Every one of us have come across the word ‘nepotism’ lately after the young Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. What is nepotism and why is it given such importance now? Let us know about it briefly along with Mega brother Nagababu’s inferences about nepotism in film industry. Nepotism is nothing but the practice of favouring relatives and friends by influential people especially by providing opportunities in their respective fields. This is said to be more prevalent in the film industry as it is common for successors of big stars bagging most of the films. But Mega brother Nagababu has a different outlook on this aspect and he shared views on his personal Youtube channel.
According to him, the word nepotism is not to be seen in magnifying glass and it doesn’t have the ability to make an actor achieve success. He elaborated this by taking examples from his own family and reminded the viewers about the hard work put in by Bunny, Ram Charan, Varun, Sai Tej and Niharika to achieve the stardom.
He said, “Nagarjuna and Balakrishna haven’t became superstars because, they are the sons of ANR and NTR. They achieved the star status because of their relentless hard work and passion. Similarly Junior NTR who emerged as one of the finest actors works very hard, even I saw him shooting for ‘Aravinda Sameta’ in 44 degrees Celsius,”.
He further added, “The Mahesh Babu I knew as a kid was chubby and when he wanted to enter the films, he worked very hard to lose weight by running constantly in KBR park. Nobody can excel in film industry without hard work and luck factor even if he is the son of God. So constantly blaming the big families in the industry and naming the hard earned success of the younger generation as nepotism is just an act of jealousy and people and media should think beyond that”.
Nagababu is right about what he said because there were many young actors from successful families who have never tasted success and who can forget actors like Nani and Vijay Devarakonda who are ruling the charts without any Godfather in the industry.
