The sudden demise of Nomula Narsimhaiah has necessitated a by-election in Nagarjuna Sagar. After the Dubbaka and Greater elections, now the focus is on the Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly by-election. In this scenario, the BJP leaders have immediately swung into action and offered a ticket to Congress leader Jana Reddy’s son Raghuveer Reddy. While Congress is nowhere to be seen, the TRS looks worried about the growing presence of the BJP.
According to political circles in the Congress, Jana Reddy seems to be unhappy with the party as he was denied an MP ticket. Now the situation of Congress is poor and on the other hand, Komatireddy brothers who are influential in Guntur district are against him. Though, Uttam Kumar Reddy has some support he is helpless. While his friend Gutha Sukhender Reddy has joined the TRS. With this Jana Reddy decided that switching sides to the BJP would be a far better option.
It is learnt that Jana Reddy sought the BJP for a governor’s post and a ticket to his son Raghuveer. He has told the BJP leaders that he would join the party only if these two conditions are fulfilled. It is learnt that Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has assured to talk to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and also fix an appointment with him. Jana Reddy has clearly said that he would join only if he gets assurance from Amit Shah. While Congress leader Vijayashanti wanted to join in the presence of JP Nadda, Jana Reddy wanted to join in the presence of Amit Shah.
Don’t know what the BJP will do regarding the conditions set forth by Jana Reddy, but the TRS is said to be afraid of the by-election. On the other hand, BJP plans to strengthen itself in Nalgonda District. The pink party is under confusion whether to give the ticket to the family members or others especially post the bitter experience of Dubbaka, on the other hand, the BJP is trying its best to include Jana Reddy and capture the Congress vote bank. The party is in a plan to continue the same enthusiasm which was shown in Dubbaka and Greater. The party is trying its best to strengthen in Nalgonda district. If Congress party gives PCC post to Revanth Reddy, the Komatireddy brothers would also look at BJP. If this happens, BJP is poised to strengthen in Nalgonda. With this Sagar is likely to be another Dubbaka.
