The Coronavirus cases in India is still continuing, with pharma companies assuring that the vaccine would be ready soon. Though there isn’t any clarity regarding when the vaccine would be ready, speculation is that it might take even a year. Recently, CCMB Director Dr Rakesh Mishra in an interview to a daily said it might even take two years for a vaccine to be developed.
Covid vaccine an election promise
Now, the political scenario in the nation is very interesting with political parties adding Covid vaccine in their election manifesto. Recently, the BJP in its election manifesto which was released by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Patna promised free Covid vaccine for all citizens in the state which includes providing 19 lakh jobs. This isn’t something new, as globally too several such promises have been made. Especially, Donald Trump in his campaign promised to develop the vaccine by November for US citizens.
In this context, a netizen in Hyderabad shot a question to Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao, the Minister of Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Industries, and IT & Commerce, whether the latter had inoculated himself with a Covid vaccine during his visit to Bharat Biotech, a Covid vaccine manufacturer. The netizen also questioned KTR as to how he is fine despite going amongst the public. To this KTR retorted saying, “Nope. Didn’t get any COVID vaccine shot; apparently, it’s reserved only for Bihar.” This satirical reply by the Minister has gone viral, leaving netizens in splits.
Well, Minister KTR has been following the Covid19 guidelines very strictly, which is very clearly evident as he is seen wearing a mask at all times during his public visits. Looks like this is how Minister KTR has kept the deadly virus at bay.
