It isn’t new for the YS Jagan government to face setbacks in court. Now, the fight over holding the AP panchayat polls which intensified between the state government and the SEC has reached the Supreme Court. Now the Jagan government faced a shocker from the Apex Court having filed a petition seeking a stay on holding the local body polls. The top court directed the AP government to rectify its petition and submit it again as several errors had cropped up.
In this scenario, the petition was returned back. While the lawyers arguing on behalf of the government have opined that it may not be possible for the errors to be rectified in a day. Hence, they have lost the time until Monday. However, as announced earlier the first phase of election schedule notification would be released on Sunday. Now, it may not be possible for the government to file a petition again. It is known that the YS Jagan led government had challenged the AP High Court’s verdict in the Supreme Court.
