The demolition of a toilet and compound wall by GVMC officials at the residence of former Mayor and TDP leader Sabbam Hari at Seethammadara in Visakhapatnam led to heightened tension in the area. Earlier, an under-construction building belonging to former Anakapalle MLA and TDP leader Peela Govinda Satyanarayana too was demolished by GVMC officials as they cracked the whip against illegal constructions in the city.
Sabbam Hari expressed shock and displeasure over the development citing that no notice was given by the officials. Hari has sought the reason in writing from Municipal authorities.
80% Constructions in the city are illegal…
There has been a considerable rise in the number of constructions in the city post the Executive Capital announcement, and as per an estimate, around 80% buildings in the city have flouted rules and permissions. However, it is clear that the YSRCP is resorting to revenge politics by targeting buildings of TDP leaders.
