Team Jagan 2.0: Who is in and who is out?

There are reports that AP CM Jagan is going to reshuffle his cabinet. It may be recalled that Jagan had hinted about reshuffling the cabinet after two and half years.

In the 2019 elections, the YSRCP achieved a landslide victory in the State. It won 151 seats out of the total 175 seats. With this, Jagan, who took over as the chief minister has formulated his cabinet based on social equations. He assured that he would do justice to those who could not get a place in the cabinet by means of a reshuffle after two and half years.

There is criticism that many ministers didn’t pay heed to Jagan, who has been saying that he would continue only those ministers who perform well. Some ministers have brought disrepute to the government by staying away from official ceremonies and by indulging in corruption. In this context, there are rumours in the political circles that those ministers would be axed. The two and half-year deadline of Jagan would be coming to end and there is a discussion on social media that there would be a cabinet reshuffle.

It appears that Dharmana Krishna Das from Srikakulam district will be the only one to continue as minister, while Tammineni Sitaram would replace Sidiri Appalaraju. With Tammineni Sitaram getting into the cabinet, the post of the Speaker is going to be vacant. It is learnt that Dharmana Prasad Rao would get the post of Speaker. It is also learnt that from Vizianagaram Botsa Satyanarayana would continue and Pamula Pushpa Sreevani would be removed. There are also reports from political circles that Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy would be getting a berth in the cabinet.

On the other hand, Avanti Srinivas may also be removed from Vizag district and that Gudivada Amarnath is likely to be inducted into the cabinet in the former’s place. One among Golla Baburao and Karanam Dharmasri is likely to get a place in the cabinet.

Changes in Godavari districts

There are rumours that Pinipe Viswarup, Taneti Vanitha, Sri Ranganatha Raju from Godavari district would be replaced with Dadisetti Raju, Tellam Balaraju, Abbaya Chowdary. While, Kanna Babu, Venugopala Krishna may get extension.

Nani out…

There are reports that Kodali Nani, Vellampalli Srinivas from Krishna district are going to be axed. In recent times, Nani’s remarks have caused serious trouble for the YSRCP government. Hence, YSRCP bigwigs have decided to checkmate the speed of Nani. Similarly, Vellampalli would get expelled and Vizianagaram MLA Veerabhadra Swamy, who is from the same caste, would be given minister’s post. According to YSRCP sources, Perni Nani has consolidated his position.

Major changes in Guntur

It is learnt that Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad would be getting a minister’s post under MLC quota and Sucharita will also continue as minister. Ambati Rambabu, Vidadala Rajini, Merugu Nagarjuna are front runners to get a place in the cabinet. There are rumours that leaders like RK, Pinnelli and Marri may have to face disappointment again. Bapatla MLA Kona Raghupati might continue as deputy chief minister.

No changes in Prakasam

As per information, there will be no changes in the cabinet from Prakasam district. Balineni and Adimulapu Suresh have been with the party since its inception. There are reports that despite seniors like Manugunta Mahidhar Reddy and Jupudi Prabhakar Rao, the YSRCP will continue with existing leaders.

Two to be axed from Nellore district

Mekapati Gautam Reddy and Anil Kumar Yadav, who are closest to YS Jagan are likely to get axed. It is learnt that Kakani Govardhan Reddy and Varaprasad would be taking their places. If the changes are needed to be made as per the political equations in Nellore, Anam Ramnarayana Reddy may get priority over Kakani Govardhan Reddy.

Difficulties in Chittoor district

Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy would get a renewal once again. There is no possibility of changing him. There is a talk among the party insiders that Narayana Swamy would be sacked and MS Babu would find a place. Roja, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, Karunakar Reddy, who had high hopes for a place in the cabinet may not get the opportunity this time. Roja has already been given the post of Chairman of APIIC and Bhaskar Reddy was made Chairman of TUDA. There are rumours that Karunakar Reddy may also get a key post.

Changes in native Kadapa district

Ahmed Basha, who is the deputy Chief Minister from Kadapa district, is likely to be removed. Zakia Ali Khan, who has become MLC might get a ministerial berth. Railway Koduru MLA Koramutla Srinivas might get a ministerial post under SC quota. It is learnt that Srikanth Reddy will be asked to step down from the post of Government whip.

What’s in store for Anantapur District

There is high possibility of Shankar Narayan bring removed. Party leadership has received several complaints against him for his unilateral decisions. Ananta Venkatarami Reddy is likely to get a chance in his place. Prakash Reddy who is competing for the minister’s post has already made a representation to the leadership.

Kurnool politics is different

Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, Gummadi Jayaram from Kurnool have found a place in Jagan’s cabinet. There are rumours that Gummadi Jayaram is likely to face the axe. It is known that Jayaram’s name was heard in cards gambling, Benz car controversy, land encroachment cases among others. Buggana, who has earned a name for himself as a finance minister is likely to find a place in 2.0. Dr. Sudhakar might find a place in the cabinet in place of Gummadi Jayaram. The senior most leader in YSRCP Katasani Rambhoopal Reddy is hoping for a place in the cabinet. He may not get a place in the cabinet because of social equations and might have to settle with the post of Whip.

It is understood that Jagan is focusing on social equations even in 2.0. There is a state wide discussion that those who are with the party since its inception were not getting ministerial posts. Jagan wants to correct this anomaly.
