There are reports that AP CM Jagan is going to reshuffle his cabinet. It may be recalled that Jagan had hinted about reshuffling the cabinet after two and half years.
In the 2019 elections, the YSRCP achieved a landslide victory in the State. It won 151 seats out of the total 175 seats. With this, Jagan, who took over as the chief minister has formulated his cabinet based on social equations. He assured that he would do justice to those who could not get a place in the cabinet by means of a reshuffle after two and half years.
There is criticism that many ministers didn’t pay heed to Jagan, who has been saying that he would continue only those ministers who perform well. Some ministers have brought disrepute to the government by staying away from official ceremonies and by indulging in corruption. Hence, YSRCP bigwigs have decided to checkmate the speed of Nani. According to YSRCP sources, Perni Nani has consolidated his position.

Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy would get a renewal once again. There is no possibility of changing him. There is a talk among the party insiders that Narayana Swamy would be sacked and MS Babu would find a place. Roja, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, Karunakar Reddy, who had high hopes for a place in the cabinet may not get the opportunity this time. Ananta Venkatarami Reddy is likely to get a chance in his place. Prakash Reddy who is competing for the minister’s post has already made a representation to the leadership.
Kurnool politics is different
Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, Gummadi Jayaram from Kurnool have found a place in Jagan’s cabinet. There are rumours that Gummadi Jayaram is likely to face the axe. It is known that Jayaram’s name was heard in cards gambling, Benz car controversy, land encroachment cases among others. Buggana, who has earned a name for himself as a finance minister is likely to find a place in 2.0. Dr. Sudhakar might find a place in the cabinet in place of Gummadi Jayaram. The senior most leader in YSRCP Katasani Rambhoopal Reddy is hoping for a place in the cabinet. He may not get a place in the cabinet because of social equations and might have to settle with the post of Whip.
It is understood that Jagan is focusing on social equations even in 2.0. There is a state wide discussion that those who are with the party since its inception were not getting ministerial posts. Jagan wants to correct this anomaly.
