The situation in Srikakulam which is known for its history of political revolution has turned tense. The news of the sudden arrest of AP TDP Chief Kinjarapu Atchannaidu by the police on Tuesday morning has heated up the political scenario in the district, with the TDP cadre alleging that Atchannaidu’s arrest is unfair and unjustified. On the other hand, several TDP leaders who tried to visit Atchannaidu have been house arrested. However, the YSRCP has denied their involvement in the arrest of the AP TDP Chief and blamed the Election Commission for the political developments.
Atchannaidu taken to Srikakulam sub-jail
The TDP AP president was arrested at his residence in Nimmada by the Kotabommali Police and taken to the police station. From there the TDP leader was taken to the closest health care centre for Covid19 tests and from there to court. Later following the investigation in Court, Atchannaidu has been sent to fourteen-day judicial custody and taken to the Srikakulam sub-jail.
