TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who was busy campaigning for the Tirupati by-election, was taken aback on Monday evening. Though Chandrababu was not injured in the incident, a woman along with another youth who were present at the rally was injured. Infuriated by the unexpected incident, Chandrababu got down from his vehicle and sat on a protest on the road. On the occasion, Chandrababu stated what would happen to the common man, unlike him who has Z-Plus category security.
Chandrababu, who is campaigning in support of TDP senior leader Panabaka Lakshmi, a former Union minister who entered the fray as a TDP candidate in the Tirupati by-election, reached Tirupati on Monday after completing his campaign in Nellore district. Chandrababu was speaking at a public meeting organized by the party ranks after the roadshow in the city on the occasion. As Chandrababu’s speech continued, nearby stones were pelted. However, the stone did not touch Chandrababu, but they fell on the people attending Chandrababu’s meeting. Another woman and a young man were injured in the attack.
He demanded that stern action be taken against the perpetrators of the attack and that those who acted as the masterminds of the attack also be punished. Overall, the incident has heated up the Tirupati by-election campaign at once.
