The battle is on between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden for the post of US President, which has turned a nail biter with both candidates fighting a tough competition. A majority of 270 is the key for the White House, with political analysts expecting a hotly contested race ahead of the long night waiting for the results. Biden leads Trump 224 to 213 in the Electoral Votes.
According to The New York Times, the former VP Joe Biden won in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Vermont and Virginia, while President Trump won in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Montana, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, West Virginia, Wyoming, Indiana and South Carolina.
Meanwhile, thousands of protesters supporting the ‘Black Lives Matter’ protested against Donald Trump in front of the White House, leading to disruption of traffic in some areas of downtown Washington DC.
