The cold war between the leaders of Telugu Desam in Vizianagaram has reached Amaravati. The TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has reacted sharply to this. “Ashok Gajapati Raju garu and I are one… decisions of both are one. An insult to him is an insult to me. He is a statesman… doesn’t need to take into consideration the words of lower-level people. Problem is solved and you can go happily,” said Chandrababu, to the followers of Gajapati Raju. With this, the followers of the royal scion, who wanted to sort out the issue, returned back happily.
The tussle between both TDP leaders hit the peaks. The war between Vizianagaram former MLA Meesala Geeta and Ashok Gajapati Raju reached a top-level. Geeta and her followers opened a party office which further added to the differences. Gajapati Raju and his followers were upset as the TDP chief did not ask Geeta to shut down the office. With the suggestions of Gajapati Raju, his followers went to Vijayawada and brought to the notice of the party chief about the party office by Geeta. They returned after Chandrababu gave assurance to them that he would solve the issue.
Indirect support to Geeta
The Telugu Desam leaders are suspecting that Meesala Geeta was supported by the party high command, state president Atchannaidu. Her followers say that the party office was opened only with their support. Geeta had met Atchannaidu and explained in detail about the Vizianagaram situation. It is learnt that she had told the party president that they were fed up with Ashok Gajapati Raju’s unilateral decisions. It has to be seen how long this would continue and when the tussle would stop.
