He is none other than Power Star Pawan Kalyan and today is his birthday which is a festival for his diehard fans.
A 25 year journey
Pawan’s debut movie was released twenty five years ago. Back in those days, his picture was printed on posters sporting a question, “Who is this guy?” After a while, another set of posters appeared revealing, “Yes, he is Kalyan”. People eagerly waited for him as a full-fledged successor from mega family. Chiranjeevi took a brief hiatus from 1994 to 1997 before the release of ‘Hitler’ whereas Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi’ was released on 11th of October in 1996. He performed breathtaking stunts in his debut which earned him a reputation for being a daredevil. ‘Toliprema’ changed his fortunes and Kalyan got transformed into ‘Power Star’ Pawan Kalyan.
Present
#Pawanism hashtag became viral and was in trending for a long time. Pawan’s special traits made him close to his fans and made them look up to him like a Demigod. He is an introvert whose words and actions are in a constant non-sync. He doesn’t possess a polished demeanour as Chiranjeevi and his fury and anger made people relate him to Che Guvera. His penchant to transform the society even made him to leave films that provide bread and butter to him.
He started his second innings with ‘Vakeel Saab’ which is his 25th film. When Chiranjeevi founded ‘Praja Rajyam’ in 2008, Pawan became the leader for its youth wing ‘Yuva Rajyam’ and actively campaigned in 2009 elections. After Praja Rajyam’s merger into Congress, he remained distant from politics until he founded ‘Janasena’ on 14th of March, 2014. He supported TDP and BJP alliance and played an important role in its victory.
He entered electoral politics in 2019 in association with BSP and Communist parties but failed miserably. But he never stopped his fight as he continues to differ with YS Jagan Government’s policies on multiple issues. Political analysts say his failure is due to his inability to project a serious image of him in the public. As for now, it’s better for him to continue the film career as entry into politics remained as a nightmare in the lives of both the brothers. While both enjoyed numero uno status in films, political arena showed them the exact opposite life. Pawan Kalyan was even attacked personally many a times regarding his marriages but was able to stand strong due to his courageous nature.
Pawan Kalyan is deeply inspired by Che Guvera and started ‘People’s Protection Force’ long back, but it showed no impact as he had to close it owing to political troubles. He says that he loves this Che Guvera’s quote, ‘When unrest prevails in the society causing people to suffer, you have to rise and battle with it irrespective of the nation you took birth, erasing the borders”. On his birthday, TLN wishes him good health in his life and good luck for his cinema and political journey.
