Legendary filmmaker EVV Satyanarayana’s younger son Naresh made his debutwith Ravi Babu’s ‘Allari’ which was released in 2002. ‘Allari’, with its out-of-the-box content went on to become a cult hit. He became popular as ‘Allari’ Naresh and transformed into a comic hero by doing films in comedy genre. He was considered as a replacement to veteran actor Rajendra Prasad and his films fared decently at the box office. ‘Allari’ Naresh garnered the title of ‘minimum guarantee hero’ for producers till ‘Sudigadu’.
After ‘Sudigadu’, luck lent a deaf ear to him and all his outings turned out to be flops. He even lost his father’s support as EVV died due to cancer in 2011. He doesn’t have a single hit in his kitty from the last eight years. Naresh is a versatile actor who can portray any emotion and his previous films such as ‘Nenu’, ‘Pranam’ and ‘Sambho Siva Sambho’ proved it. Unfortunately, his adherence to slapstick comedies never let his true talent out.
Director VamsiPaidipally offered him Mahesh Babu’s friend’s role in ‘Maharshi’ last year. Naresh played it with aplomb and made the industry turn towards him for such promising roles. His upcoming film ‘Naandhi’ directed by Vijay Kanakamedala is ready for release. Naresh plays the role of a prisoner in it. The plot of the films revolves around an innocent man who gets trapped in a criminal case and eventually arrested. Rest of the proceedings show how his innocence is proved with the help of a criminal lawyer.
Filmnagar is abuzz that ‘Allari’ Naresh has been roped in for a pivotal character in the upcoming Balayya-Boyapati’s film. He is reportedly playing an important character in the flashback episode. Even though the film’s team considered the names of Kalyan Ram and Naveen Chandra for this role, Boyapati zeroed in on Naresh. Industry circles say that time has come for Naresh to stay away from his routine comedies and concentrate on ‘different’ roles. Let’s hope that his role in Balayya-Boyapati’s film brings back the lost glory to his career.
