Tadikonda MLA Vundavalli Sridevi landed in yet another controversy. An audio clip in which she is heard abusing a Circle Inspector for not releasing vehicles and men caught transporting soil illegally went viral, drawing condemnation from netizens.
In yet another glaring example of ruling party legislators humiliating police officials, Tadikonda MLA Vundavalli Sridevi launched a barrage of abuses against a circle inspector who did not release vehicles seized for transporting soil illegally. An audio clip of the controversial MLA threatening CI went viral on social media triggering a storm of protests from netizens.
She called up the CI and demanded him to release those who were caught transporting the soil and their vehicles. When he did not budge, she became furious and threatened of serious consequences if he does not do as said. She also belittled him for defying her diktat though “he got posting by touching her feet”. “Don’t do extras. Release them forthwith”, she was heard in the audio clip.
Brushing aside his pleas that he was in a conference with the SP, she went on abusing him for not obeying her orders. Police Officers’ Association too has strongly protested the MLA’s behaviour.
Here’s the translated excerpt from the audio…
MLA: I have been telling from the beginning
CI: Hello, Namaste madam. I am in conference with SP Sir
MLA: Are you crazy? Have I not called you when they were held? You let off all others
CI: SI made the arrests Madam
MLA: What are you saying? What I am saying, what you are saying? Don’t you respect the MLA?
CI: Will not seize next time, Madam. Vehicles have also been seized. SI seized them madam
MLA: Are you crazy? Did I not call you on the day they were caught?
CI: Yes Ma’m, you did.
MLA: What did I say then?
CI: if we let them off, it will be a problem to release others mam.
MLA: Release, and seize others. What is there for me to say? You do as you wish?
CI: No mam, they…
MLA: What are you talking?
CI: No mam, I have not said anything..
MLA: Don’t you know how to respect the MLA? Let them off for once. Release them with a warning.
CI: Will not intercept next time Ma’m. But (if I release them) others will question us.
MLA: What questioning? You let off others at your will.
CI: No mam. Sparing no one. You know our government policy on soil and sand.
MLA: What soil and nonsense? Will you release them or shall I call the SP? Are you kidding me? You are treating an MLA like a common activist.
CI: No mam.
MLA: You got posting by touching my feet. You promised to obey my orders.
CI: I obey you Ma’m. But these are stolen vehicles Ma’m. If we release, it will also bring bad name to you.
MLA: Don’t you think I have not seen the picture clicked in home?
CI: No mam. Government’s soil.
MLA: What do you think of yourself? What is your post?
CI: No mam.
MLA: You will be packed off in two minutes. Don’t do extras (overreach yourself). Send them immediately, otherwise, I will tell the DGP, SP…
