In Adilabad’s Tatiguda area, a petty quarrel among teenagers playing cricket led to their parents get into an argument, eventually leading to open fire, leaving two injured and one critical. Farooq Ahmed, a former vice-chairman of Adilabad municipality and MIM district chief fired his licensed .32mm pistol in a fit of rage at Syed Sameer who received two bullet injuries and Syed Mouthesin receiving one bullet wound. While another person identified as Syed Mannan was stabbed by the MIM leader. Two youths have been hospitalised in RIMS Adilabad while another who sustained severe injuries has been shifted to Hyderabad for better treatment.
“The victims are out of danger and the accused, Farooq, has been arrested and produced in court. He is in possession of a licensed weapon. We have written to the District Magistrate to cancel his weapon license,” Rajesh Chandra, the ASP of Adilabad said, adding that political rivalry between Farooq and the other group might also have led to the firing. The MIM Chief of Adilabad has been arrested by the police and will be produced in court.
