Tollywood audiences who are not known for encouraging out of the box content are becoming thirsty for different films lately. This change is evident from the last five years and the huge success of OTT films proved that our people are all set to accept unique content if told enticingly. Lockdown made us close to Malayalam films and Aha played an important role in this.
Kappela is a Mollywood romantic drama starring Roshan Mathew, Sreenath Bhasi, and Anna Ben. The plot revolves around a phone call romance between an auto-rickshaw driver and a village belle who runs into trouble in the process of meeting him. It is now being remade in Telugu and Naveen Chandra is roped in to play one of the leading roles.
The makers are trying to cast Vishwak Sen for the other role and nothing has been concrete from the young hero’s side yet. The team has reportedly contacted Krithi Shetty for the female lead and eventually dropped the idea as she asked for Rs.7lakhs as her remuneration.
So the makers are keen to cast Anikha Surendran who acted in many films as a child artist. Anikha is well known for her role as Trisha’s daughter in Yentha Vaadu Gaanie which is the Telugu dubbed version of Ajith’s Yennai Arindhaal.
