The visit of AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy to Delhi has taken an interesting turn and has given rise to several political speculations. Has the CM arranged for the Delhi tour or has the CM been summoned to provide an explanation over the temple attacks in the state? Well, the reasons are unclear. However, this sudden visit to the national capital without any prior schedule has raised several eyebrows. The AP CM who will reach Delhi in the evening is scheduled to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and later some other Union Ministers.
Centre serious on Temples vandalism
It is learnt that the Centre is serious over the attack of 145 Hindu temples and idols of Gods having been demolished. Several BJP leaders in Centre have also expressed their anger on the incident of Lord Ram idol having been beheaded by miscreants at Ramatheertham in AP’s Vizianagram. There are also allegations that the state government failed to curb such incidents in the state, and has been lackadaisical in nabbing the culprits. Many of the state BJP leaders too complained about the issue to the Centre. These developments in the state related to the vandalism of temples have led to strong opposition among Hindus.
In this context, the Centre too expressed its anger on the developments. Hence, looks like the Union Home Minister Amit Shah summoned the AP CM in this regard. Also, in CM’s whirlwind schedule only a meet with Amit Shah has been mentioned. There has also been no clarity regarding which ministers the CM would meet.
Will the High Court be shifted to Kurnool?
It is speculated that CM YS Jagan’s visit with Union Home Minister Amit Shah assumes significance regarding completion of the law process related to shifting of the High Court to Kurnool from Amaravati. It is known that the YSRCP Chief is hell-bent to shift the CMO from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam, the Executive Capital initially after March. The same has already been announced by key YSRCP leaders as they believe the court verdict would be in their favour. Taking into consideration the above aspects the YSRCP Chief’s plan is to shift the High Court from Amaravati along with the capital so that there’s no turning back.
Efforts on to get funds for Polavaram?
The Polavaram project which is touted to be the lifeline of AP is on at a snail’s pace. By now water must flow through the canals due to gravitational force, but the state government does not seem to be bothered. In case, the main project work begins, several issues need to be looked into such as providing shelter for those displaced and compensation. Till date, a whopping Rs 15000 crores have been spent on the main project, and an additional Rs 30,000 crores would be needed to provide accommodation and compensation. It has to be seen whether the Centre would release these funds or whether the Centre would bear the total cost of Rs 55,000 crores to build the project. However, the AP government has no confirmation regarding the same. Since the Polavaram project has been accorded National Status, the state government is requesting the Centre to bear the expenditure.
