Arguments in the High Court on the petitions filed against the ZPTC and MPTC elections are over. The arguments in the high court on the petitions filed by the BJP and Janasena challenging the latest notification issued by the state election commission were completed yesterday. However, the State Election Commission had filed a counter-affidavit. The bench also held a hearing on the matter on Sunday.
The lawyer explained that the ZPTC and MPTC elections are being resumed by the SEC from where they were stopped. Advocates for the state election commission told the court that the nominations and withdrawal processes were complete. He told the court that all the staff were ready to conduct the elections. The tribunal hearing the arguments reserved judgment. No verdict has been issued as of now.
