Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao is considered as a demi-god by the people of Telugus all over the world, thanks to his unforgettable portrayal of mythological roles. Balakrishna is the only actor in the present generation who can essay these kinds of roles. He acted in such roles along with his father like Daana Veera Soora Karna and Akbar Salim Anarkali in 70s. NTR even directed his son Balakrishna in films like Vemulawada Bheemakavi and Brahmarshi Viswamitra which covers mythological and historic genres.
Balayya never left the history genre as he continued to work in films like Bhairava Dweepam, Shri Krishnarjuna Vijayam, Sri Rama Rajyam and Gautamiputra Satakarni. Rumours are abuzz that Balayya will play the role of Gona Ganna Reddy in an upcoming film. Gunasekhar showcased Allu Arjun in this role in Rudhramadevi earlier.
Gona Ganna Reddy was a tribal warlord who lived in Kakatiya period. It is said that his valour was comparable to that of Queen Rudhramadevi. If materialized, this would be another feather in Balakrishna’s cap.
