Prathi Poovankozhi is a special film that touched the burning issue of eve-teasing. It was released in 2019 and became a cult hit. Manju Warrier’s outstanding performance took this flick to a different level. Rosshan Andrrews directed this thriller alongside playing antagonist in it. Veteran Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor bagged the remake rights of this film in all languages.
Sources say that Boney bought the rights in order to make his daughter Janhvi Kapoor play the heroine’s role in the Hindi remake of Prathi Poovankozhi. The original portrays Manju Warrier in a slightly aged role and we have to wait and see how Janhvi will fit in. This would be first remade in Hindi and the remake rights of Telugu and Tamil will be sold to other production houses.
Manju Warrier played the role of sales girl in it. She is harassed by a ruffian in the bus once and the rest of the proceedings reveals how she avenges him. Prathi Poovankozhi was well received by the audiences and critics alike and Manju’s performance won her many accolades. It is based on a novel named Sankadam by Unni R who also provided screenplay for the movie.
