Guntur Arundalpet police have finally released Madineni Venkata Mahesh and Kalyan, who were arrested for allegedly posting false videos on YCP MP Vijayasai Reddy on the CBN Army YouTube channel. Venkata Mahesh and Kalyan, who are CBN Army admins, were arrested by the police yesterday and interrogated at the station last night. Guntur police have released both the activists from the station on bail after TDP leaders tried to approach the high court over illegal arrests. It is learned that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu had written a letter to the DGP on illegal arrests.
Mahesh told the media that he was illegally arrested by the police. He opined that they had not made any false propaganda against YCP MP Vijayasai Reddy. Mahesh said his party’s youth leader Nara Lokesh also does not encourage such things.
