It’s not good to judge a director’s calibre on a single flop. Even though majority of the film industry lent a deaf ear to this fact, Akkineni scion Naga Chaitanya follows it to his heart. Most of his directors have a single hit movie in their careers. He has now given his nod to a couple of directors who failed in establishing his brother Akhil’s career.
Akhil’s debut film flopped miserably at box office. Nagarjuna produced Akhil’s second film ‘Hello’ and roped in Vikram Kumar as director for it. Even though ‘24’ failed at the box office, Vikram was given a chance which he failed to utilize properly. ‘Hello’ turned out to be a dud. Akhil’s third film ‘Mister Majnu’ directed by ‘Tholi Prema’ fame Venky Atluri also failed to charm the audience.
Keeping aside sentiments and track record, Naga Chaitanya has given a nod to both Vikram and Venky for his upcoming projects. He recently announced his ‘Thank You’ film with Vikram Kumar on his father Nagarjuna’s birthday.
Rumour is that Chaitu was impressed by a ‘sports-drama’ penned by Venky Atluri and is said to have given the green signal. ‘Sithara Entertainments’ will be bankrolling this project. Let’s see whether these directors who gave flops to Akhil give hits to his brother Naga Chaitanya or not.
