The by-election to the Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly seat in Telangana has become ambitious for the ruling TRS. Even the BJP, which has lost deposits in the past, says it is crucial here. It must be said that this by-election has become a life and death issue for the Congress Party. After the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress did not win any elections except the victory of Jeevan Reddy as MLC. Huzurnagar and Dubbaka lost badly in the by-elections. The GHMC wrapped up the defeat in the election. The party also lost in the recent MLC elections. It is in this context that victory for Congress here is vital. At the same time, the Congress victory here will also dictate the future of many leaders in the state. It is in this context that Revanth Reddy and Konda Vishweshwar Reddy names can be mentioned.
If the Congress party loses?
If the Congress party loses this election, it will be considered a disgrace. The defeat of senior leader Kunduru Jana Reddy for the second time in a row means that the party cadre will also take over. At the same time, even if they lose, the BJP is likely to say that Congress has also lost. The fact that the BJP is already saying that it is an alternative is detrimental to Congress. In this context, it must be said that the party and its leaders need a victory. Winning here can be considered a renaissance for Congress.
When it comes to leaders
While some leaders say that if Kunduru Jana Reddy wins here, there will be some breaks in Revanth’s Speed, others say that Revanth Reddy did as CLP when he was the MLA of Kodangal in the past and that mutual understanding is understandable. If Jana Reddy wins, it is expected that the rest of the seniors in the party along with Revanth will get a check. However, many of the seniors who checked Jana Reddy were known to be anti-Revanth. In this context, if Jana Reddy wins, it is the same as the minus for Revanth. If Jana Reddy responds positively to handing over the TPCC leadership responsibilities to Revanth Reddy, then the latter’s strength will increase.
But if Jana Reddy loses then the differences in the party will definitely touch the peaks. Internal divisions within the party have already erupted in the wake of the PCC announcement. These will grow even more. Somehow if the party is defeated even the word of supremacy comes to a situation where some leaders defy it. There will also be scope to work against party decisions. When it comes to the proposal to give PCC to Revanth Reddy, there are chances that many leaders will openly oppose it. Doubts are rising as to whether Revanth Reddy will be given the PCC in such circumstances.

Revanth waiting for a long time
Revanth Reddy, the TTDP Telangana Working President, joined the Congress party with the assurance of the supremacy given by the TPCC. However, Revanth Reddy gave the working president to the channels after joining the Congress. Revanth lost in the 2018 Assembly elections and fell somewhat behind. However, the speed increased with the victory from Malkajgiri in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The PCC has been in office ever since. Though it is expected that the Congress party will take a decision on the recent PCC issue, the party has postponed the appointment of PCC after several leaders, including Jana Reddy, requested that the PCC statement not be made till the Nagarjuna Sagar by-election is completed. The decision will be announced anyway after the Sagar results. However, if they win Sagar there may not be any troubles. Adjustments are still possible if conflicts arise. Defeat will create a rift in the party. At the same time, the Revanth faction, which is already impatient with the politics going on in the Congress party, is also likely to make a decision.
Is there scope for a new party?
Meanwhile, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, Revanth Reddy, Teenmar Mallanna and two other key leaders of the TRS are campaigning for the party. Some leaders say a new party is needed in Telangana. At the same time, YS Sharmila’s party is busy with its formation programs, but there are those who label it as a non-Telangana party and a party that targets the votes of a section. In this context, there is also a debate on whether it is possible for any party other than YS Sharmila’s party to survive. That is why it seems that there are some leaders in the trend of waiting for years. To say that Konda Vishweshwar Reddy will announce the operation three months later is also considered a decision taken in this sense.
