A situation that cannot be underestimated internally
And when it comes to Chandrababu… Being in that party … Those who have gone out for various reasons, those who have experienced positions, even those who are in positions cannot appreciate Chandrababu internally. Critics of Chandrababu due to his position, economic, social and regional issues are no exception. It is no exaggeration to say that more than 80 per cent of those who are now criticizing Chandrababu are those who worked with Chandrababu. Not only that his rivals – late YS Rajasekhar Reddy, the present YSRCP Supremo YS Jagan and TRS Chief KCR, have not even been able to prove corruption charges against Chandrababu, but the leaders of various parties also say that if he remained a leader who did not prove a single corruption case during his tenure, it can be understood about his rule. No matter how many allegations the haters make, there are those who say that the TDP government has acted on the basis of welfare, self-employment, wealth creation and opportunities for the downtrodden in governance. It should be noted here, however, that Chandrababu’s life was not an expansive one. Chandrababu is known as a person who seeks opportunities for victory from defeat. It can be said that Chandrababu has always stood by the constitutional struggle.
Appointed as minister at just 28 years
Chandrababu Naidu was born on April 20, 1950, to Ammanamma-Kharjura Naidu in Naravaripalli, Chittoor district. He completed his BA in 1972. He completed his PG in Economics from Sri Venkateswara University. Played a key role in student movements. He was also an ally of the late CM YS in the Youth Congress. He first won from Chandragiri in 1978 from the Congress. At the age of 28, he became a minister in the then Tanguturi Anjayya cabinet. In 1981, he married NTR’s daughter Bhuvaneswari.
Together with NTR
NTR founded the TDP in 1982. At one point he was preparing to compete on NTR. In the 1982 elections, he contested as a Congress candidate from Chandragiri despite being an NTR ally. At the time he even faced defeat due to the massive popularity of NTR. He later joined the TDP. It is said that a key figure in the TDP at the time, Parvathaneni Upendra helped Naidu re-join the TDP. He was the TDP general secretary until 1985.
These are the changes
While commitment was already a priority in the TDP, Chandrababu undertook several reforms. Programs such as training for activists, special opportunities for women activists, discipline, campaigning with leaders at the field level. At that time, TDP was the first party in the country to provide insurance cover to activists. At the same time, he was instrumental in the formation of the National Front during the NTR regime. The meeting, organized by NTR, was attended by 60 well-known leaders from across the country. Leaders still say that this is the approach followed by Chandrababu. However, in 1995 the party had to be taken over. Despite facing criticism on this issue… The opinion is being expressed in various parties that TDP would not have existed if the party had not been protected on that day, so it can be said that Chandrababu was ready to face any criticism for the party. Chandrababu took over as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on September 1, 1995. It should also be noted that in the subsequent elections, the people voted for Chandrababu. Programs such as loans to the motherland, cleanliness, sanitation, labour, and loans to DWCRA communities were implemented.
With Vajpayee
He allied with the BJP in 1999. The BJP came to power at the Centre. Chandrababu has become the favourite leader of the legendary leader Vajpayee. At the same time, Balayogi had the opportunity to be the speaker. Chandrababu is said to have played a key role in making APJ Abdul Kalam president. During his tenure as CEO, Chandrababu was credited with bringing many international industrialists to the state, including US President Bill Clinton and Microsoft chief Bill Gates. Hi-Tech City, Shamshabad Airport Plan, Outer Ring Road Plan, ISB, ICICI Research Centre, Genome Valley, Sports Academy. The foundation which was laid then is still solid. Later, KCR left TDP and formed Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
Alipiri incident
In 2003, the Maoists blew up Chandrababu’s convoy in Alipiri. Chandrababu was injured in the attack. Elections were announced six months ago. Unexpectedly, however, the TDP was defeated. YS Rajasekhar Reddy became the CM. Chandrababu became the Leader of the Opposition. In the 2009 elections, several parties, including KCR, contested as a coalition. The PRP was formed at that time. YSR regained power by splitting TDP votes and anti-YS votes. The same year YSR passed away in a helicopter crash.
Letter in favour of Telangana
Already in the wake of the momentum of the Telangana movement, there is pressure from the leaders of the two states .. Chandrababu gave a letter in favour of Telangana. At the same time, the 63-year-old set a record by undertaking a 2817km trek ‘coming for you’. The party came to power in the AP in 2014 after the partition of the state. In Telangana, it won an exceptional 15 seats. Subsequent developments, the ballot paper case, and the joining of several MLAs to the TRS weakened the party in Telangana. Came to power in the AP. After the split, Chandrababu became the first CEO of AP. However, in the 2019 elections, the party was limited to 23 seats. Leaders did not properly assess the sentiments of activists at the field level, including the issue of special status, which damaged Chandrababu’s political strategy. The main reason is the inability to prevent even false propaganda against Amravati.
Honest on one side and battle on the other
However, many other party leaders say the party is out of work. Others say it is the TDP. It is said that the reason for this is that Chandrababu Naidu changed the TDP into a party of activists and not a party of leaders. Some leaders say that Chandrababu was ready to carry out any number of struggles, that there was no evidence other than allegations of corruption, and that the YS, then Jagan and KCR could not prove any of the allegations, and that the transparent policies of the Chandrababu regime were to blame. Chandrababu, who is already suffocating from the struggle even at the age of seventy, is said to be a library run by Telugu politics. Described as an address to vision. Moreover, TDP activists are proud to say that Chandrababu is their leader who has the guts and courage to declare the details of his own assets and family assets as a media witness, whether he is in power or in opposition. The Telugu brothers say that Chandrababu’s name is still heard in the list of top 10 visionary leaders in the country and that is the sole merit of Chandrababu Naidu.
No celebrations due to Covid
Last year, the Telugu brothers did not celebrate Chandrababu’s birthday celebrations due to Covid. However, this time, Chandrababu tweeted to his party ranks that such plans should not be made as the Covid cases are again on the rise.
