The Telangana government has fixed the date and time to distribute the much-awaited double bedroom houses to the underprivileged in the city. The houses are going to be distributed to the beneficiaries a day after Dasara festival. With this many are of the opinion that the real Dasara festival has come in the homes of the poor. The Telangana government will be providing houses to the beneficiaries on 26th of this month.
The distribution in the city would be inaugurated by Minister KTR. In the first phase, the government is making arrangements to distribute 1,153 double bedroom houses in the city. About 840 houses are ready in Jiyaguda, 192 at Ghode Ki Kabar, and 128 in Kattelamandi are ready for distribution.
On Monday
Minister Talasani on Friday reviewed the program of distribution of the double bedroom houses. The minister along with the MLAs and MLCs of concerned areas reviewed the arrangements. He informed the leaders that Minister KTR would be distributing double bedroom houses to the beneficiaries at 10 am at Jiyaguda on Monday. Similarly, at Ghode Ki Kabar in the Goshamahal constituency, the program would be at 10.30 am and 11 am at Kattelamandi. He said that the dream of the poor to have their own house will be fulfilled soon.
Basti Dawakhanas in every area
Minister Talasani said that the government was providing houses with all facilities like drinking water, electricity, roads and drainage at full cost without the beneficiaries spending even a single penny. He said Basti Dawakhanas were being set up at the construction site for every double bedroom house to bring medical services closer to the poor. He asked the officials to complete the arrangements with the co-ordination of officers from all departments by 26th.
Minister KTR has said that already 80 per cent of double bedroom houses were completed at various sites in the city. Remaining would be completed soon and distributed to the people. However, several political party leaders are of the view that the issue of distribution of double houses has come to the fore in the wake of the Greater Elections and the MLC elections.
