Kodali Nani, the YSRCP Minister for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs has been barred from speaking to media till the AP Gram Panchayat Elections conclude. SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh has issued notices to this effect stating that it be implemented with immediate effect. The SEC took cognizance of the derogatory speeches made by the YSRCP Minister in the media conference and therefore issued show-cause notices and a restraining order against the latter. As a result, Kodali Nani has been barred from addressing the media till February 21st.
The YSRCP Minister in the presser lashed out at TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu saying that it was because of the latter complaining to the SEC that door delivery of ration could not be implemented. Kodali Nani even went on to say that the YSRCP wave cannot be stopped either by Chandrababu or SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar. Earlier, the SEC had also issued restraining orders against Pedana (Krishna) MLA Jogi Ramesh from speaking to media, for having violated the Model Code of Conduct. However, the AP High Court stayed the orders issued by SEC against Jogi Ramesh.
Reacting to the restraining orders issued by SEC Nimmagadda, the YSRCP Minister through his advocate T Chiranjeevi wrote to SEC’s Secretary urging that the notices be withdrawn. “We have asked the SEC to withdraw the show cause notice and, if there is any action against the minister, then we will respond legally,” Chiranjeevi told media.
