Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla is now the world’s richest having acquired $9.5 billion more than Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon. He garnered a whopping $194.8 billion as the shares of the electric vehicle company surged by 4.8%. The South African born engineer has also found his place in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, which ranks the world’s 500 wealthiest individuals. A Twitter user ‘Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley’ had shared the news tagging the Tesla CEO that the latter had become the richest person, to which Musk gave a funny reply saying, “How strange. Well, back to work …”.
Since a year, Musk’s net worth has witnessed an increase of $150 billion as Tesla’s stock price surged 750 % owing to the firm’s strong sales, consistent profits, and its foray into the Chinese market. While Tesla might make its entry into the Indian market in mid-2021 and efforts are on to ship the vehicles as completely built units (CBU). It is estimated that Tesla’s Model 3 would be sold in India and the price could be anywhere between Rs 30-60 lakhs.
