The political heat in Warangal has intensified on a daily basis with a face-off being witnessed between the TRS and BJP. Especially, the tour of Telangana BJP Chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar led to a total change in the situation. The remarks made by the BJP Chief targeting local leaders have stoked a controversy, with the issue still raging in Warangal. Also, politics in the area is changing day by day in the wake of the upcoming Warangal Municipal Corporation elections. The BJP is aggressively targeting TRS leaders for any minor issue. According to political analysts, the issue of Bhadrakali temple being raised with regard to development in Warangal is a strategy to corner the TRS.
TRS’ counterattacks on the BJP
Apart from BJP Telangana Chief Bandi Sanjay, even district leaders too targeted and severely criticised the TRS leaders. As a result, the TRS leaders tried their best to counterattack and dismiss the allegations made by the BJP. The TRS dared the BJP leaders to come for a debate and challenged them to get funds from the Centre and develop Warangal, instead of trivializing the issue for political benefits. However, the BJP has turned deaf ears to the TRS and continues its verbal attack on the ruling party. Now, the BJP has targeted senior TRS leader and cabinet minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao by making allegations and even trying to disrupt his programmes.
Headache for Errabelli
The senior TRS leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao is facing a strong resentment within the district with his political tours being hampered at every level. According to local leaders, criticism against the BJP has increased in the wake of reports that the senior TRS leader’s younger brother has joined the BJP. On the other hand, several ABVP students had stopped Errabelli Dayakar Rao from visiting the Kakatiya University, for having failed to resolve university issues and those related to VC appointment, being the local minister. Though the TRS Minister entered the University with police support, the way Student Union leaders were treated by the personnel led to strong criticism. Recently, several women even protested against the injustice meted out to them in the double bedroom housing scheme. In this scenario, it has to be seen how Errabelli Dayakar Rao will deal with all these issues and manage to control the public anger against him.
