Former minister Ravela Kishore Babu is facing an uncertain future having left the Telugu Desam Party. The former All India Services officer had joined the Telugu Desam Party before 2014 and was given a ticket from the Prathipadu Assembly constituency where he won. He emerged as the undisputed leader in the TDP by getting the minister’s post despite being a first time MLA.
However, his aggression coupled with his sons resulted in bringing him disrepute. He went silent after he was removed from the cabinet. He was one of the leaders who targeted Jaganmohan Reddy severely. After he could not get support in Telugu Desam, he joined Janasena but faced the same situation and later joined the BJP.
Durga Prasad who had won from Tirupati Lok Sabha constituency died due to Corona, thereby necessitating by-elections. All have kept their focus on the Tirupati seat, which is reserved. Generally, if anyone dies, TDP will not contest and this is likely to continue even now. Political analysts said that if the TDP does not contest the election, the BJP-Janasena alliance could win. With this, Ravela Kishore Babu is eyeing the constituency.
Lobbying with Janasena Chief
Ravela Kishore Babu also has experience of working in Janasena in the past and it is also heard that he had good relations with the leader. It is said that Ravela is in the city to get the seat. Ravela is likely to contest from Tirupati if he gets the blessings of the BJP high command.
