YSRCP has been taking steps to dispel the despair and dissatisfaction among its leaders over not being given any nominated posts despite passing of more than a year since the party came to power in the state. The party, which prepared a list with 56 names for corporation posts, has not released it officially but leaked to both mainstream and social media. This list is expected to be declared officially in a couple of days. But the list has created confusion and commotion in the state. There are allegations that many chairpersons for corporations are barely known in their own communities.
No reward for hard work?
Second rung leaders who worked hard from the inception of the party and strived for its victory pinned a lot of hopes on nominated posts. They have been leaving no stone unturned for the posts all these months.
Now all such leaders are openly expressing their dissatisfaction and displeasure over denial of posts. In Vizianagaram, Botsa Satyanarayana’s follower Pilla Vijayakumar expected chairmanship of Toorpu Kapu Corporation. It was believed he was almost confirmed for the slot, but he and his followers were stunned to find the name of Mamidi Srikanth on the list.
Sealed covers business!
Party cadres are grumbling that the entire process of corporation posts smacks of sealed covers affair. They feel that staunch supporters and hardworking leaders of the party have been ignored and only those who curry favour with the top leaders found a place on the list. As an example, these sources cite the appointment of Kanimanti Anusha Patnaik as chairperson of Shisti Karanam Corporation under Vizianagaram quota. Pointing out that she does not belong to the district and resides in Vizag, party sources wonder how she can be chosen under Vizianagaram quota. Members of Shisti Karanam community say she has no links at all with their community in the district.
‘We are residents of Vizianagaram‘
When contacted, Anusha Patnaik asserted that they belong to Vizianagaram district and their forefathers hailed from the district only. She told www.theleonews.com that they are outside the district only for employment purpose. Similarly, dissatisfaction is brewing over appointment of Rangamudri Ramadevi as chairperson of Dasari Corporation under Vizianagaram district quota. When contacted, she denied that there was any dissent on her proposed appointment.
In view of the dissidence and protests over some names on the leaked list, it is to be seen whether the party will go ahead with the same list or make changes taking into consideration the opposition being expressed by party cadres in various districts.
