Ganta Srinivasa Rao, who was a minister during the Telugu Desam Party’s rule having won from Visakha North constituency in the previous elections, attended the party’s meeting after a long time. He had attended the party meeting to discuss regarding the appointment of ward committees and to chalk out plans on strengthening the party.
There were rumours that the TDP leader would join the ruling party after the YSRCP had assumed power in Andhra Pradesh. However, he was facing stiff opposition from the followers of Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao and hence didn’t join the party. He is still continuing in the Telugu Desam. With the YSRCP government targeting the TDP leaders on illegal constructions, it is now sure that the doors are closed for Srinivas.
Several properties of Ganta Srinivas Rao have been seized as they were identified as illegal, which were reportedly worth crores of rupees. According to political circles, the TDP leader is very upset following the raids by the officials, despite him being willing to join the ruling party. It has to be seen what twist Ganta Srinivas Rao would give in future.
