We all know that the film industry is one of the most affected due to the COVID crisis. It needs immediate revival as both the makers and workers are on the verge of financial despair. This is a first of its kind experience for the otherwise busy industry and efforts are being made to get it back on track now. Sources say that South has decided to commence shootings from the second week of September after much deliberation.
Prashant Neel started this trend by commencing the shoot of his big-budget flick KGF-2 from August 26th. Now Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam industries are said to be following this Kannada director’s footsteps. Naga Chaithanya and Sai Pallavi starrer ‘Love Story’ is said to resume its shoot from 7th of September. The team of ‘RRR’ is also reviving its filming in the coming two weeks according to sources as its director Rajamouli and producer DVV Danayya have overcome Corona and are healthy now.
‘Ponniyan Sevan’ which is touted to be the dream project of acclaimed director Mani Ratnam is also resuming its shoot shortly. It has an ensemble star cast which includes Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Parthiban, Jayaram and Aishwarya Rai. This big budget magnum opus had completed its first schedule in Thailand before the outbreak. The next schedule is said to start in coming twenty days.
But doubts still linger whether star heroes would join the filming since many have stayed home to keep themselves away from harm’s way. Prabhas’s upcoming film ‘Radhe Shyam’ which is being directed by ‘Jil’ fame Radha Krishna is going to start from September 20th. A hospital set worth six crores has been erected in Ramoji Film City. Prabhas along with a bunch of other actors are said to start shooting for some action scenes in this set. As Unlock 4.0 has been initiated now, let us hope the best for the film industry and wish it continues to entertain us as usual.
