The first phase of the GHMC polls has concluded with the nomination process closed. Now, the political parties are all set to hit the campaign trail, with the ruling and opposition parties gearing up for roadshows. The TRS begins its campaign today with Minister Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao holding a roadshow in Kukatpally and Qutbullapur Assembly constituencies on Saturday. In the previous GHMC elections, Minister KTR single-handedly campaigned and played a crucial role in TRS’ victory.
With the same inspiration, Minister KTR will be out in public today. The TRS roadshow begins at 4 PM from Kukatpally all the way through Cantonment, with a public rally to be held at the Uppal grounds. He will also hold a roadshow in Qutbullapur. The TRS is also focusing on securing the Mayoral post consecutively for the second time. In this context, the TRS party announced the name of its star campaigners – CM K Chandrashekar Rao, Ministers KT Rama Rao, T Harish Rao, Etela Rajender, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Puvvada Ajay Kumar, Satyavathi Rathod and Koppula Eshwar. While the last date of filing of nominations for the GHMC polls closed on Friday. Overall 1932 candidates have filed 2602 nominations, and officials will inspect these on Saturday.
