The GHMC poll campaign is witnessing many twists with each passing day. On the other hand, the political tussle between the ruling TRS and the BJP is at its peaks. Already, the BJP is striving hard to win over the Hindu community for votes, while, the Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay lambasted the TRS and MIM. It is known that the Telangana State Election Commission had directed the TRS Government to halt the Rs 10,000 flood relief to rain victims till the GHMC elections are held, citing Model Code of Conduct. Though the TRS attempted to blame the BJP of stalling flood relief, political analysts say that the move has backfired. The issue has now been blown out of proportion with the BJP filing a complaint with the CCS. According to Bandi Sanjay, the BJP has alternate plans in mind in case a section of votes go against the party.
Have done nothing for the Muslim community
Usually, the BJP leaders known for polarising Hindu votes, this time are trying their best to win over the Muslim community. Recently, Nizamabad Lok Sabha MP Dharmapuri Arvind mentioned about the various schemes being implemented by the BJP for the welfare of Muslims, highlighting that they had declared the practice of Triple Talaq illegal and unconstitutional. The MP tore into TRS and MIM, accusing both the parties for using the Muslim community just for vote bank politics instead of development, criticising that only ahead of elections the minority community are remembered. The BJP MP even questioned the sincerity of the TRS and MIM over the pathetic state of Old City.
