The Coronavirus pandemic is about to end. The government-appointed scientific committee though hasn’t clarified the reason behind the decline said that India has crossed the peak stage, adding that by February end there would be in complete control of the situation. However, the committee stressed on the fact that every precaution must be taken going forward and the public shouldn’t be complacent. Given the festival season around the corner, Covid guidelines should be followed without fail.
One crore five lakh cases
This comes as good news for all citizens worried amidst the growing concerns of Covid19. In another four months, the pandemic will come to an end and it is estimated that over one crore five lakh cases could be registered in the country by February 2021. On the other hand, the total number of confirmed positive cases in India is 75,08,695 as of October 18. While, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Harsh Vardhan in an interaction to media on Sunday cited Kerala as an example for the recent spurt in cases. The Minister has asked states to strictly implement Covid guidelines during the upcoming festive season and not to take the issue lightly. The Onam festivities in the state from August 22nd to September 02nd had led to a rise in the cases.
Observations made by the committee
– Covid cases are on the decline since a few days. Twenty-six lakh new cases are being registered on a monthly basis In India
– Only 30% of the population in India have the natural immunity to fight the deadly virus in India
– In four months, there would be a significant decline in virus cases
– Public must follow Covid guidelines without fail
– Pandemic can be controlled by 2021 and the number of cases by then would be one crore five lakhs
– Around 1.14 lakh people have lost their lives due to the deadly pandemic
– Once the pandemic comes into control, all lockdown restrictions could be eased and normalcy would return in the process
– However, the committee warned against people gathering in large numbers
Special campaign in Telangana
The Telangana government in order to curb the rise in Covid cases has initiated a special campaign. Several awareness videos to keep the virus at bay have been released for the general public. A special Mask Maharaja campaign will be launched ahead of the festival season in the state by the public health department.
Decline in Covid cases in Telangana
In the health bulletin released by the Telangana Public Health Department, the number of Coronavirus cases is below thousand. Around 948 cases were registered in the past 24 hours, with 1896 people having recovered from the infection and four people losing their lives due to Covid. Overall, the positive cases in state has risen to 2,23,059 and active cases being 21,098. In the last 24 hours 26,027 Corona tests were carried out.
