Black fungus is putting more tension on people who are already worried about the Covid cases. Until yesterday, these cases were detected in Gujarat and Maharashtra and recently in Telangana. Linguram, a resident of Bhainsa in the Nirmal district, has died after being treated for black fungus at a hospital in Hyderabad. The disease appears to have been diagnosed after Covid treatment. Hospital sources, however, have yet to officially disclose the matter. Doctors say a small number of people are at risk of contracting the fungus due to overuse of steroids, but not all of them are infected.
While the condition of two of them is stable, the condition of one seems to be somewhat critical. Doctors announced that there were three cases in Gandhi Hospital. However, while data is available on cases registered in public hospitals, it remains to be seen how many cases will be reported in private hospitals.
Corona infected who use steroids
Doctors at Gandhi Hospital say that people with high levels of steroids for treating Corona, those with other chronic illnesses, and those with weakened immune systems are more likely to get the disease, known as mucormycosis (black fungus). Doctors say the fungus can be fatal if left untreated and can spread to the brain through the nose and throat, sometimes leading to loss of eyesight. Asphia from Nizamabad district, who was infected with the disease, also lost her sight. The conquest of the corona seems to have been caused by a black fungus. On the other hand, there are reports of black fungus cases at Sarojini Devi Hospital. Information that they are being given liposomal amphotericin bee treatment. Part of that is to use an amphotericin B injection. Doctors also say that the centre has not yet notified the black fungus so far and accurate data is not available. The first case of the fungus was reported in Gujarat during the Covid treatments. The centre has recently given permission to some companies amid concerns that it may be costly and the availability of injections may be low.
