At a time when the political supremacy in Allagadda reached a new height, the ruling YSRCP gave another shock to the Bhuma family. The YSRCP supporters have grabbed the Nandyal Vijaya Dairy, which was with the Bhuma family for more than 28 years. Though this election is for the governing body, it has attained political significance. The YSRCP supporters have won three director posts. There are four more YSRCP followers among the 15 directors. TDP has five directors. With a majority of directors, Akhila Priya’s maternal uncle SV Jaganmohan Reddy was appointed the chairman. For the last 28 years, her paternal uncle Bhuma Narayana Reddy has been the chairman.
Akhila Priya has been facing allegations of kidnap in the Bowenpally lands in Hyderabad and was imprisoned. Her brother Jagat Vikhyat Reddy and her husband Bhargava Ram are absconding. It is said that these two had attacked Bhuma Narayana Reddy in the past.
There is a talk that Bhuma Jagat Vikhyat Reddy forced his uncle to resign from the chairman post being a director. Jagat Vikhyat Reddy did not utilize his voting right. There is a talk that the Bhuma family has been facing difficulties both financially and politically post the death of Nagireddy.
The YSRCP made strategic moves after the jail incident of Akhil Priya. One YSRCP leader Mallikarjun approached the court alleging SV Jaganmohan has no eligibility to contest and there was a stay on the election. Interestingly, Mallikarjun withdrew petition and elections were held. Six contestants including SV Jaganmohan Reddy, Gangula Vijayasinghareddy and Ravikanth Reddy have won. Except for Jagat Vikyat Reddy, all others exercised their voting right.
SV Jaganmohan Reddy, who recently won the Nandyal Vijaya Dairy chairmanship post, is the younger brother of the late Sobha Nagi Reddy, the mother of Bhuma Akhila. He left the TDP and joined the YSRCP before the 2019 elections.
