JanaSena Chief Pawan Kalyan in his Delhi tour met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He was accompanied by his political advisor Nadendla Manohar. It is learnt that the JanaSenani held talks with Amit Shah on various issues, especially Vizag Steel Plant (Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd) privatisation issue. Recently, the decision by the Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs (CCEA) to privatise the Vizag Steel Plant drew immense outrage having drawn severe criticism from various corners of the state. The Navaratna plant provides permanent employment for 18,000 people and to 20,000 people under contractual basis. While lakh people are dependent on the plant in a passive way. The JanaSena in an official letter to Amit Shah requested the latter on behalf of the BJP and JanaSena alliance to stop the privatisation of the steel plant.

The JanaSena Chief also recollected the sacrifices of 32 people in the fight for the steel plant and said that the establishment is the pride of all Andhra people. He requested the Centre to consider alternatives like providing resources by allocating of iron ore mines, such that the plant can recover its losses.
