Kona Venkat is a wordsmith who fetched stardom to the writer clan of Tollywood. In his heyday, top stars used to wait for his stories irrespective of the directors involved. TFI nicknamed him the script doctor.
He entered production with Geethanjali in 2014 and co-produced many small and medium budget flicks. When asked about his abstinence from producing big films, Kona replied ‘I have ninety percent success rate as a writer and all the stars of Tollywood are well known to me. But I never used this rapport for business purposes. As star heroes have several commitments, we have to wait for so long to helm a film with them’.
Kona further added ‘Power star Pawan Kalyan is a good friend of mine and he said on several occasions to come up with an apt story. He promised me to give his dates if I pen a nice story and rope a young director and I am in the process of materializing an idea. I will meet him shortly’.
