All vaccine development firms are working hard to prove that their product achieves the desired efficacy and safety levels. Amongst such drug makers is Pfizer Incorporated, an American multinational pharmaceutical corporation. “The study results mark an important step in this historic eight-month journey to bring forward a vaccine capable of helping to end this devastating pandemic,” Dr Albert Bourla, the Chief Executive of Pfizer said, adding that the vaccine is 95% potent in treating the deadly pandemic and that it has not shown any kind of side effects in human beings.
130 Crore doses
Pfizer Inc and BioNTech, a collaboration of US and German Pharmaceutical firms have developed the Covid vaccine. According to the results achieved to date, Pfizer said that the vaccine could treat mild and severe stages of Covid. Also, not just youth but also adults over 65-years could receive the vaccine without any fear. Speaking about the number of doses, the drugmaker aims five crore doses by 2020 and that by the end of 2021 they would manufacture 130 crore doses.
