PM Modi had already announced that the Covid vaccination exercise in India would be the biggest of its kind in the world. In order to ensure that all issues related to storage, logistics and vaccine administration to be a success, the Centre had organized two dry runs even before providing the emergency approval. The state governments were also advised on how to face challenges and alerted them in advance. With a proper plan implemented the Centre mulls rolling out the vaccination festival from January 16th. In this context, the PM held a video conference with all CMs on Monday.
No need for them to register
PM Modi made it clear that three crore people would be vaccinated in the first phase, which includes doctors, medical staff, police personnel and sanitary workers. In this way all frontline workers would be vaccinated first and that there is no need for them to register. The data related to this would be compiled by the respective state governments, and that some states have already got the data readied. However, PM Modi made it clear that the names of public representatives must not be added to the list of frontline workers.
