There is a competition between the Telangana leaders to get the post of TPCC president, with all top leaders vying for the post. These leaders have begun lobbying in New Delhi to get the post after the resignation of Uttam Kumar Reddy post the GHMC election debacle. Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Jagga Reddy, Sridhar Babu and Hanumantha Rao Vuthpulla have been stating that they will get the post. While Revanth Reddy went a step ahead claiming that the high command looks forward to him and that a statement was awaited.
Revanth Reddy in his campaign had projected himself as the next TPCC chief adding that there is no able leader like him in Telangana. He along with Bhatti had campaigned intensively in GHMC elections and attracted the crowd. There were rumours that the high command had finalised his name and a letter would be issued on December 9. However, the party leaders said that these all were gimmicks and added that the party does not make appointments in such a manner.
There was a campaign that Revanth is sure to get the post of TPCC. The party has huge hopes on him and he has good relations with Rahul Gandhi and other important leaders. However, the Congress party decided to take the opinions of the leaders. It is learnt that the lobbying by the senior leaders had worked in this. It seems that the state leaders have also told the national leaders that if Revanth is given the TPCC post, all the leaders in the Congress will desert the party. It seems that the state leaders have decided to postpone the announcement and instead seek opinions.
