MANSAS Chairperson Sanchaita Gajapati, who is known for sensational and controversial decisions, has taken yet another sensational decision. She has decided to shift the MANSAS office to a remote location in Padmanabham of Visakhapatnam district. She wrote a letter to the EO of MANSAS and recommended that it be sent to the Endowments Commissioner on an immediate basis. The office would get shifted following the commissioner’s orders.
It is alleged that she was taking such decisions with the support of the government. There is a discussion going on as to why the public representatives were not speaking against such decisions.
Vizianagaram Assembly incharge and MANSAS director Pusapati Aditi Gajapati condemned the decision saying that a conspiracy is being hatched to destroy MANSAS. In a media conference, she said that the chairperson was taking such steps to wipe out the institution. She alleged that YSRCP leaders who wanted to grab the lands of the institution have a role behind the move.
The city civil welfare association district secretary Reddy Shankar Rao demanded the Endowments department not to shift the MANSAS office which is within public reach. There is a conspiracy behind the idea of shifting the office, he alleged. Stating that the office here was helping the employees to bring their issues to the notice of the management, he said that Minister Botsa Satyanarayana should take steps to continue the office in Vizianagaram. He said that the office was being shifted with the fear of protest by the civic organizations against the illogical decisions like the closure of Ayodhya Ground, privatization of Maharaja College.
However, people in the district have criticized the decision of the chairperson stating that she was not only bringing disrepute to the government but also to the institution.
