Irked by the remarks and public display of wealth by MLA Jeevan Reddy from Telangana’s Armoor constituency about his Rs 3 crore car, activists found a quirky way of taking a dig at the poor road conditions by sarcastically congratulating the MLA via a flex board.
Reddy was seen flaunting his luxury car in a viral video which showed him having a conversation with Congress MLA Jagga Reddy. The exchange of words was reportedly after an official meeting.
In the video, Jeevan Reddy, while showing off his car to Jagga Reddy, quoted a popular dialogue from Tollywood movie Pokiri, which translates to “It’s not important when I came, what matters is whether the bullet has entered or not”. He further added “look at your car, and look at mine,” while driving away after refusing to even see the Congress MLA’s car.
Annoyed by the video, his behavior and lack of concern towards the local civic issues, local activist, Mailaram Balu, put up a flex which read, “We congratulate our MLA Asannagari Jeevan Reddy who recently bought a car worth Rs 3 crores”, with the photos of the vehicle, adjacent to that of the poor condition of a road near the railway gate in Armoor. Another line on the board read, “Construct the road for at least the sake of your costly car, if not for the people of Armoor.”
The satirical poster went viral on social media platforms while addressing a serious issue in a lighter vein to get the attention of the society.
“He (the MLA) has not fixed the roads in the last six years for those residing in his own constituency. They are filled with potholes due to rains. It will be a tough drive for his luxury car. The demand is that he should at least repair the road for the sake of his costly car, if not for the people,” he told the media.
