In a major road mishap, 13 people lost their lives as the minibus they were travelling in collided with a truck near Itigatti village on the Hubli-Dharwad bypass road on Friday. Among those killed eleven were women while six others were critically injured and hospitalised in KIMS. All those travelling in the Tempo Traveller were heading to Goa from Davanagere to celebrate their reunion on the occasion of the 75th year celebration of St Paul’s Convent. The accident took place when the minibus rammed into a truck coming in from the opposite direction. PM Modi too expressed shock and condoled the tragedy.
“Saddened by the loss of lives due to a road accident in Karnataka’s Dharwad district. In this sad hour, my thoughts are with the bereaved families. I pray for a quick recovery of those injured,” PM Modi tweeted.
