In a major development, the AP High Court dismissed the supplementary petitions of those who tried to implead themselves in the three-capital issue. During the hearing, the court allowed some lawyers to hear the case directly, while the others were allowed to hear online. In this context, an affidavit which was filed by the government previously regarding the camp office and a guest house in Visakhapatnam was also taken up by the High Court.
Superior court of the state delivers its verdict
The AP High Court directed that plans related to the guest house project proposed to be built in Vizag needs to be submitted. It is known that the AP CM YS Jagan led government has proposed building a guest house on a sprawling 30-acre site atop a hill at Kapuluppada. This decision by the state government drew severe public outrage and several cases were filed in the court. The irony is that the state government has issued orders related to the project while the matter was still pending in court. However, it was publicized that the guest house would not be built, instead, a Secretariat would be constructed at the site.
The High Court during the hearing told petitioners to let it know whether the guest house was being built as part of the administrative capital, while adding that it would continue to hear arguments, despite the other pending petitions. Many petitions were filed in the AP High Court after the three-capital plan was proposed by CM YS Jagan. The court also said that the cases would be heard on daily basis.
