Tamil Star Suriya is the synonym for experimental cinema in the present generation of actors. He has great following among Telugu audiences and Tollywood considers him as one of its own. Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru has been dubbed into Telugu as Aakasam Nee Haddura and is going to release in Amazon Prime on November 12th. This is an excerpt from Suriya’s interaction with media recently about the film.
“We had to cross many obstacles to release Aakasam Nee Haddura finally. This is a special film for me as an actor. Director Sudha Kongara had this line with her since the last decade and narrated it to me three years ago.
Aakasam Nee Haddura portrays the story of a common man who realizes his extraordinary dream. Captain Gopinath is a son of a school teacher who embarks on an ambitious journey in the aviation sector. The film revolves around how he made a mark of his own finally by building a low-cost airlines company.
We met Captain Gopinath before the start of the movie in Bengaluru and felt deeply inspired after coming to learn about his experiences and hassles faced in order to start Air Deccan.
I met Sudha Kongara on the sets of Yuva and still remember that I had to satisfy her along with Mani Ratnam in the shots. After watching Guru, I decided to work with her and this film realized our collaboration.
Senior actor Mohan Babu, who played an important role in this film is like my mentor. He accepted this role in the first narration itself and portrayed it only because of his association with me. Even though he travelled with actors like Rajinikanth, the way he surrendered to the character is amazing. Paresh Rawal’s performance is also equally good. This is my first biopic as an actor and we are confused whether to remake it or dub it into Hindi for now.”
