The VSP Employees and Trade Unions have expressed their opposition to the privatisation of Vizag Steel Plant (RINL) as proposed by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA). In this context, senior TDP leader and former minister Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu made sensational allegations. He alleged that the privatisation is being planned following the consent of CM YS Jagan and that his true colours have now been exposed. He said it is scornful to put up VSP for strategic sale through privatisation in a bid to grab shares.
The TDP leader even lambasted AP CM YS Jagan for having failed to meet those who were struggling to protect Vizag Steel Plant, to hear their concerns and criticized the latter for having time to attend the anniversary celebrations of the Visakha Sri Sarada Peetham. Ayyanna Patrudu termed YSRCP RS MP V Vijayasai Reddy as the real mastermind and that the latter has been misleading the public in the name of padayatra (walkathon). The former AP minister added that the truth pertaining to VSP privatisation would soon be out and that the day would come when people will thrash those in power.
