The TDP cadre will hold a statewide agitation on February 18 against the government’s decision to privatise Vizag Steel Plant following a call given by the TDP National President N Chandrababu Naidu. The TDP chief said that YS Jagan in order to recuse himself from the CBI cases has decided to sell the VSP. He added that the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant is the pride of all Andhra People and warned against playing with people’s emotions. The TDP chief also said that the privatisation will not be allowed to happen at any cost. He even recollected that the Vizag Steel Plant provides employment to around 90,000 people.
Sketch to grab 8000 acres
Chandrababu Naidu alleged that plans are being made to grab around 8000 acres of land which were allocated to VSP, following the process of privatisation. He also went on to say that the development would lead to loss of livelihoods for many and to those affiliated with the factory. He said that Centre must act right away to withdraw its plans of privatizing VSP.
