Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao is making efforts to sew a third front against both BJP and Congress at national level. CPI leader K Narayana expressed his support to his efforts. It is learnt that as part of this, TRS senior leader K Keshava Rao is meeting leaders of various parties in Delhi.
He is said to have held talks with Trinamool Congress and Left parties already. The third front has become more imperative for the Left leaders as the BJP government at the Centre is registering cases against them. Besides coming out of these cases, the Left leaders are also seeing the third front as a weapon to weaken the saffron party politically. In these circumstances, TDP has decided to tread cautiously.
Future is BJP’s, believes TDP
TDP has concluded that the BJP is the party of future in Indian politics. It believes that there are no competent leaders to take on BJP. Party leaders analyse that BJP’s ideology is in sync with the thoughts of the nation’s youth and the people are also appreciative of the BJP’s line of action with regard to foreign affairs.
The TDP also thinks that Left parties have become outdated. Congress has lost its previous charisma and is unlikely to recuperate from the current paralysis. Party leadership is of the view that sewing an alliance of regional parties and keeping it united is an impossible task.
On the other hand, the TDP also feels that KCR will try to dominate with utter disregard to leaders senior to him, once the third front takes shape. Sources say TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu too has shared these apprehensions on the new alliance. TDP seniors feel that the party will be alive and grow only if it sails with BJP.
Though AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is using every opportunity to express his obedience to the saffron party, the TDP thinks that the good relations may not last for long. At any rate, TDP is not going to support the third front proposed by KCR.
