Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, the TDP Polit Bureau member and former Union Minister has donated a sum of ₹1,01,116 to the new Ram Temple being built in Ayodhya. In this context, the TDP leader was accompanied by the BJP leader and former Minister Kamineni Srinivas. The cheque was handed over to the officials of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, a trust set up to overlook the construction and management of the Temple in Ayodhya.
Rejection of cheque
It is known that the senior TDP leader Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju had sent a cheque along with a letter to the officials of the Ramatheertham Temple in AP, towards purchasing a new idol of Lord Ram. In the letter, the TDP leader mentioned that he’s just offering the donation only with a devoted mind. However, the AP Endowments Department and Temple Board rejected the cheque given by Ashok Gajapathi Raju saying that the temple funds are being used for the time being and that individual donations are not being entertained. Reacting to the news, the Royal scion of the Pusapati dynasty expressed his displeasure over his donation being rejected and on his removal from the post of chairman of three temples. Several TDP leaders and temple devotees severely criticised the government for having rejected the donation.
Now that I have been denied my right as a bhakta and a member of founder family to offer my donation to Lord Rama in Ramatheerthalu, I have passed on the donation which to my mind now belongs to Lord Rama to the Bhavya Ram Mandhir in Ayodhya. I am at peace now. pic.twitter.com/VgDwTlxWMl
